About the Event

St Alban's Anglican Church, Epping (NSW) for the first time and in association with the City of Ryde Eisteddfod, is promoting an organ competition at St Alban's Anglican Church, Epping (NSW). The closing date for for entries is the date for all instrumental applications, i.e. 26th April. There will be an opportunity for competitors to practice on the organ before the day of the competition and there will be a short warm up on the day of the competition.

Competitors will be required to play two pieces:

• a North German Baroque piece (or part of a longer work), e.g. Bohm, Bruhns, Buxtehude, Lubeck
• first or last part of Organ Trio Sonata by J.S. Bach (BWV 525–530) the total performance to last no longer than 10 minutes (not including spacing between pieces and registration). The performance must be preceded by a short spoken introduction providing information of interest to the audience.

Prizes - Cash, plus a possible performance for the winner to play a full lunch time recital or part of the recital (upon agreement) at St Alban’s Anglican Church, Epping, with opportunities for further recitals at different venues.
